Informational Workshops.
Informational Workshops are scheduled for the following Tuesdays: May 6 & June 3, 2008 from 7pm to 9pm. The workshop is free of charge.

There will be a Spanish/ English Workshop hosted by our Juntando Familias Coordinator, Zenaida Burgos, on Saturday June 21, 2008 from 10am to 12pm.

All of the above workshops will be held at the AASK office. Please reserve your space by calling us at 510-553-1748 ext 12 or use the contact form on the website.

SPEAKEASY THEATERS NOTE THE CHANGE IN DATE! will be hosting a fundraiser for AASK. All proceeds to go to fund recruitment efforts. The event wil be Thursday June 26 at the 9:15 showing of Harold & Maude! Tell all your friends, we want to fill every seat that night. In addition to getting some money from each ticket sold, we will also have an opportunity to speak to the audience about AASK, the kids, and how they can "bring a child into their lives"! There will be fun door prizes!

JUNTANDO FAMILIAS, our Latino Family Program will be present at 2 events in May...come out and see us! Vengan visitarnos!

CINCO DE MAYO- San Jose on Sunday May 4, 2008 in the Family Area outside the Discovery Museum!

CARNAVAL SF-Join us in the Zona Verde of Carnaval in San Francisco on Sunday May 25, 2008.

LGBT Community

Be sure to come by and visit our booth at SF Pride this year! Sunday June 29 at the Civic Center in San Francisco!

Thanks to a generous grant from the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, AASK, this winter, went to visit a number of LGBT Community Centers around Greater Bay Area. It was a pleasure to connect with folks in Concord, Hayward, Marin, and San Jose.

2008 Dorothy and Robert DeBolt Scholarship
Adopt A Special Kid will award the third annual $2,000 scholarship, in the name of its founders. The DeBolts raised 20 children, including 14 who were adopted. This scholarship will be awarded to a youth who has been adopted after being in foster care in California.
