Highlights From Last Year (2007)

  • 24 families began the journey toward welcoming a child to their home forever by completing their adoptive home studies.
  • 29 children attained the first step toward permanency by being placed in families homestudied by AASK.
  • 29 children achieved permanency by having their adoptions legally completed.
  • Camp Always celebrated its 6th anniversary. AASK's award-winning adoptive family camp thanks its partners: University of California Alumni Association Lair of the Bear, Stanislaus Co. CSA, and Irwin Home Equity Foundation!
  • AASK was able to triple the number of recipients for the Fourth Annual Dorothy and Robert DeBolt Scholarship, in support of higher education for a youth adopted from California's foster care system.
  • AASK continues to enjoy the support from several foundations. Target, Hartley, Getty, EOS, and Irwin Home Equity, thank you.
  • We garnered new support from SIsters of Perpetual Indulgence and the Montrose Educational Foundation, allowing us to reach out to LGBT and Latino communities. We are especially pleased that the Montrose grant allowed the hiring of a staff person to focus on the recruitment of Latino families.
