AASK has many opportunities available for those individuals who can commit some
time to share their skills and can help find a niche for people with only one
hour or several hours a month. A range of possibilities is listed below:
Board of Directors: Do you like to solve problems, work as a member of a team
and have 8-12 hours a month? Please consider joining our Board of Directors, an
essential part of providing quality services to children needing homes. AASK
particularly welcomes interest from the African-American, Latino and gay and
lesbian communities and hopes to attract individuals with business or
fundraising experience or strong faith affiliations. For more information, view
a job description and
complete an application form.
Auxiliary: Are you a computer whiz, a people-person, creative or like to help
plan? Newly forming group looking for leadership and associates interested in
special event fundraising and other projects. Ideal for someone wanting to work
on just one project: a fundraiser, an office work-day or staffing an event.
Contact us about your interests.
Foster or adoptive parenting: Love children, enjoy helping them grow and achieve
and have room in your home? Read more about adoption
and foster care.
Parent Recruiting: Know your community well, have contacts in businesses,
churches or community organizations? Friendly and extroverted? Help AASK find
prospective adoptive and foster parents by posting recruitment material,
obtaining speaking engagements or sharing other helpful contacts. Our
Family Coordinator can provide you with all you need to get started.
In-kind Services: AASK has periodic need of printing, graphic design, catering
and other professional services. Let us know what great skills you have to
offer by completing our contact form.
