Volunteer Opportunities:

AASK is looking for individuals with a commitment to serving children's interests. You can help AASK with its mission by taking advantage of a volunteer position. Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community, meet interesting people, learn more about issues, test your skills and learn new ones.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEMBER-Board members are an integral part of ensuring quality services to children who have endured some form of maltreatment. Board members participate in: strategic planning, setting broad policy initiatives, fund development and promoting the agency within their communities. AASK is seeking Board members from across California who share in the vision of our mission and can commit to helping ensure the agency succeeds at it. The Board is looking to increase membership of individuals who are persons of color, gay or lesbian or who have marketing, public relations, leadership or child/family law skills. The Board holds quarterly meetings in Oakland: individuals must be able to travel to these meetings consistently. For more information contact the .

Peer Family Recruiter-Experienced adoptive or foster parents from Northern California are needed to serve as recruiters for new families. They are encouraged to find opportunities in their communitities for media coverage, to give presentations and other means to spread the word about the need for families. Contact our Family Coordinator to sign up: .

Data Entry-Updating data is a never-ending task. Steady hands are needed in the Oakland office to help us keep up with the flow. Persons with a little free time and solid computer skills should contact our Development Director at .
