AASK is looking for individuals with a commitment to serving children's
interests. You can help AASK with its mission by taking advantage of a
volunteer position. Volunteering is a great way to give back to your
community, meet interesting people, learn more about issues, test your skills
and learn new ones.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEMBER-Board members are an integral part of ensuring
quality services to children who have endured some form of maltreatment.
Board members participate in: strategic planning, setting broad policy
initiatives, fund development and promoting the agency within their
communities. AASK is seeking Board members from across California who share
in the vision of our mission and can commit to helping ensure the agency
succeeds at it.
The Board is looking to increase membership of individuals who are persons of
color, gay or lesbian or who have marketing, public relations, leadership or
child/family law skills.

individuals must be able to travel to these meetings consistently. For more

Peer Family Recruiter-Experienced adoptive or foster parents from Northern
California are needed to serve as recruiters for new families. Experienced
families are the number one source for attracting families into the program
due to their ability to speak from the heart. Peer families receive training
and recruitment materials. They are encouraged to find opportunities in
their communitities for media coverage, to give presentations and other means
to spread the word about the need for families. Contact our Family

Data Entry-Updating data is a never-ending task. Steady hands are needed in
the Oakland office to help us keep up with the flow. Persons with a little
free time and solid computer skills should contact our Development Director
