Good News:

Agency Highlights Over the Past Year-

Successful collaboration by AASK staff and families and county agencies led to another stellar year in providing permanency for children waiting in the foster care system.

  • Services to children and families increased dramatically-70% over the prior year.

  • AASK staff was responsible for a 104% increase in home studies of families and a 132% increase in the placement of waiting children over the prior year.

  • Finalized adoptions were up by 44%.

  • Last year saw a large increase in the number of children over the age of three placed into adoptive homes and also in the number of sibling groups placed together. This is most welcome news as these children typically wait longer for homes.

  • AASK produced its first annual adoptive family camp-called Camp ALWAYS-in collaboration with Stanislaus County. One hundred thirty two campers enjoyed a free week of education, respite, networking and recreation in a beautiful forest.

  • Board membership was increased by 66%, bringing added diversity and skills to the Board of Directors.

  • AASK welcomed many new government, corporate, foundation and individual funding partners. For a complete list, check out the "Donate and Volunteer" section.
